Reach students on their level
Tutors using Silent Elephant “e” to teach an ELL, a struggling or a dyslexic learner of any age will be amazed at their students’ progress—students typically advanced one grade level for every two months in the program with only 1.5 hours per week of instruction.
No prior experience with dyslexia or special training is needed to implement the effective, sequential, easy to follow lesson plans. You can relax and enjoy teaching, as your students are totally immersed in learning through uniquely fun multi-sensory activities involving hand puppets, play-acting, games and drawing.
Everything you need is at your fingertips:
- Initial and ongoing assessments are provided to enable you to confidently share your student’s progress with their parents.
- Begin with Part 1, Phonemic Awareness. It is crucial to have a strong, solid foundation in phonics awareness—this is the most often missing key skill.
- Parts 3-14, Phonetic Reading, uses multi-sensory, whole body activities and Partner Practice pages to guide learners to a concrete understanding of the application of abstract phonics rules. Relish watching their confidence blossom!
- When you hand an At Home Practice page to parents upon completion of each tutoring session, you will know their children will be excited to become “the teacher” at home demonstrating their strength and confidence in their reading ability.
As you progress in Silent Elephant “e”, it will be hard for you to remember the struggling readers you first met as you watch them skip away with their head held high bursting with happiness and enthusiasm along their journey to lifelong learning!
